Advent holds a Degree in Financial Management majoring in Investments, a Degree in Theory of Accounting and Honours in Theory of Accounting from the University of Johannesburg. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Law from the University of Johannesburg.

He has experience in lecturing Tax at a CTA academy at Nkonki Incorporated for the students studying their Honours in accounting with UNISA. He also served for 3 years at Nkonki Incorporated as Auditor/Accountant and Tax Consultant. He currently lectures Tax (ACCA F6, P6) and Audit (ACCA F8) at CharterQuest.
