Brand South Africa salutes young Charted Accountants who will represent South Africa in Poland

The CharterCapital Advisory TeamSA has been crowned the national champion at the South Africa final of the CIMA Global Business Challenge (GBC) 2015. This international business competition is held by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in partnership with Barclays.

Brand South Africa is mandated to position South Africa as a competitive and reliable investment destination. It is for this reason that the organisation recognises the achievements of the CharterCapital Advisory TeamSA for being selected to represent the country in Poland in August.

CharterCapital Advisory TeamSA is made up of four students from CharterQuest Training Institute namely Tshegofatso Makhene, Justice Tshabalala, Tshenolo Ramawela and Raymond Miiro. At the national final, the team had to present their solutions to a real-life CIMA business scenario based on the oil and gas industry. They also had to participate in a question and answer session before a panel of judges.  The team will now represent South Africa at the global final in Warsaw, Poland, in August 2015. They will be competing against 25 other teams from across the world.

Team member, Justice Tshabalala says: “We are thrilled to have won the CIMA 2015 South Africa GBC final. The competition has been an incredible experience so far and has allowed us to practise and develop our business knowledge and skills. We’re proud to be representing South Africa at the global final and hope to show that we can be the best in the world.”

The CharterCapital Advisory TeamSA has demonstrated that the youth are actively- participating in ensuring that South Africa remains a competitive business and investment destination despite challenges in the global economy.The team has shown that the energy, vibrancy and enthusiasm of youth can be channeled in a positive way for their personal development as well as for the development of our country.

About the CharterCapital Advisory TeamSA

The CharterCapital Advisory team is made up of four energetic and inspired young individuals studying at CharterQuest Financial Training Institute. The team was born out of a common interest and drive in strategic business analysis and innovation, which manifested itself in the decision to participate in the CIMA 2015 Global Business Challenge with the full support and backing of the Founding CEO of the Institute.

Tshegofatso Makhene
Tshegofatso is the team leader who is currently studying ACCA knowledge and skills courses and hails comes Soweto in Johannesburg.

Raymond Miiro
Raymond is the deputy team leader, who is currently studying ACCA and holds a General Accounting Certificate from Lesotho Institute of Accountants.

Justice Tshabalala 
Justice is studying CIMA Certificate level having recently completed a Diploma in Public Relations from Rosebank College.

Tshenolo Ramawela
Tshenolo is studying CIMA Certificate level and holds a Diploma in Technical Financial Accounting with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB).
