The FYLA Scholarship Case Challenge

Apart from the FYLA Bursaries & Financial Aid fund to which students can apply from year 2 onwards, a limited number of places on the FYLA Programme are funded through The FYLA Scholarship Case Challenge; this is annual double-round business management and leadership-focused case study competition -with outcomes very similar to The CFO Junior Case Study Competition, except that it is based on individual rather than team entries. Starting from 2018, the process and timelines entail:

  1. Create an online FYLA account, login, and apply to join The Future CFO –FYLA Programme (select The FYLA Scholarship Case Competition at the end of the process).

  2. Log into your FYLA account to download integrated case study pre-seen or industry and company background, and begin preparing.

  3. Report to The CharterQuest Institute (in Sandton) for The FYLA Special Open Day 2018; you will be given business scenarios or problems, continuing from integrated case study preseen or the industry and company background in step 2 above,  to analyse and provide recommendations -by applying your High School knowledge of Mathematics, Accounting, Business Studies, and Economics.

  4. The best 10 reports will be announced in The Future CFO Magazine October 2018 edition; and the Top 10 students will return to The CharterQuest Institute, solving an extended version of the integrated case study, and then facing a panel of CFOs and business leaders (together with an audience) to present their recommendations. The panel will then adjudicate and decide the best candidates to receive the full tuition scholarship award worth R320,000 over the 6 year duration of The FYLA Programme!

NOTE:

Subject to meeting all the admission requirements, the scholarships will cover full tuition and cost of studies (registrations, tuition fees, study materials and exam fees); and not your living expenses; and will be automatically renewed each year, subject to exceptional performance -including passing all your modules 1st time, maintaining an overall 60% average, and achieving excellence in key projects and extra-mural activities that will be assigned!
