Joel is a qual­i­fied Char­tered Accoun­tant [CA(SA)], a qual­i­fied Fel­low of CIMA [FCIMA] and a qual­i­fied Fel­low of the Char­tered Insti­tute of Sec­re­taries [FCIS]. his career spans over 40 years in senior finan­cial posi­tions. For­merly the Group Com­pany Sec­re­tary of Net­care lim­ited, he is now Tech­ni­cal Adviser to the Char­tered Sec­re­taries South Africa. He has been a keynote speaker at numer­ous Cor­po­rate Gov­er­nance sem­i­nars and is a part-​time fac­ulty mem­ber of the GIBS Board Lead­er­ship Pro­gramme as well as the UNISA BCOMPT degree pro­gramme and the CTA. As a stu­dent, he has received the “CTA-​Most Dis­tin­guished Stu­dent” award and shared sub­ject prize in “Cost Account­ing” in 1965, and in 2002 was also awarded the “Insti­tute Prize” by ICSA for the first place in South Africa for the “Cor­po­rate Gov­er­nance” exams. he is cur­rently a board mem­ber of the Insti­tute of Char­tered Sec­re­taries and Admin­is­tra­tors [ICSA].
