Team UP 116 from University of Pretoria, South Africa

Team Profile

Team UP 116 consists of three young and motivated individuals who are currently studying at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. The team formed as a result of an assignment which granted them the possibility of being a part of The CFO Case Study Competition 2016. "The competition has afforded us the opportunity to engage in real life scenarios thereby broadening our knowledge and understanding of how businesses solve relevant strategic  & risk problems – a skill that we can develop and utilise from this experience." 

The team leader is Caitlin O’Donoghue, the “implementer and finisher” who focuses on the overall strategy of completion and ensures that a high standard of work is presented. Kristin Williams is the “monitor evaluator” – bringing a logical and thought provoking opinion to all matters analysed. Finally, Jenevieve Badenhorst is the “coordinator and specialist” – providing relevant and detailed information while guaranteeing commitment from all members of the group.


Individual Profiles


Caitlin O'Donoghue
Finisher

Caitlin is the team leader and is considered the ‘implementer and finisher’ with reference to the Belbin Model of team roles. She actively encourages the team to express and debate their opinions leading to well analysed strategies and recommendations that can be presented to the MCOM Board. She is currently in her third year at the University of Pretoria studying a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Science.



Kristin Williams
Monitor Evaluator

Kristin is described as the ‘monitor evaluator and teamworker’ as defined by the Belbin Model. She efficiently follows through on requirements set by the team, bringing logical reasoning to all the problems faced by the MCOM business. She is currently in her third year at the University of Pretoria studying a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Science.


Jenevieve Badenhorst
Specialist

Jenevieve is better known as the ‘coordinator and specialist’ of the team in terms of the Belbin Model. She ensures all necessary information about each problem is provided for and vigorously confirms that every angle has been analysed before coming to a conclusion. She is currently in her third year at the University of Pretoria studying a Bachelor of Commerce in Law.
