Team Profile

Team UL 5 consists of four enthusiastic individuals who are highly vibrant, exciting, committed and aspiring competitive leaders from the University of Limpopo in South Africa. The fundamental purpose of the team is to apply the theoretical strategic understanding obtained during the undergraduate level into the real corporate world faced with challenges that are curtailing the economic development of the country. "The positive attitude embodied among us inspired the team to interrogate the context of the case study. Our participation in The CFO Case Study competition has already enhanced our academic growth and also elevated our individual perspectives of the corporate world."

The team is under the stewardship of a humble, selfless and academically conscious leader - Klaas Machacha who ensures that team members are always optimistic about victory. In her capacity as an analyst, Pontsho Rameetse evaluates and ensures that the complex issues which are identified from the scenario are simply understandable. The presence of Tebogo Kgomo as the peace maker/discoverer in the team ensures that no latent or hidden issues are left unattended. Lastly, Desry Lesele being the striker, ensures that the work is executed in a professional manner in line with the attributes of a scholar.    


Individual Profiles


Klaas Machacha
Leader    

Klaas Machacha well known as leader among academic activists, makes sure that the activities of the group are coordinated timeously, effectively and in a professional manner. He also plays an imperative role in ensuring that there is mutual consensus in any subjective argument that is drawn from the analysis of the case study. Klaas is a member in good standing of the University of Limpopo alumni, and also serves as committee member of Black Management Forum Student Chapter (BMFSC) in the department as academic transformation officer. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) cum laude and is currently enrolling for Honours in Bachelor of Commerce/BCTA researching on “the effect of the conservation of water on corporate profitability”. He owes his existence to the conservative mountains and rivers of Sekhukhune Land (GaMachacha). 



               Pontsho Rameetse            The Analyst

Pontsho is well-known in the team as the analyst. She evaluates every detail under study; drawing conclusions which bring understanding to team members, and also provides appropriate business actions. Moreover, our analyst carries the team values with great passion, energy and beliefs. Pontsho is a member in good standing of the University of Limpopo alumni, and served as an additional member of African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) Students Chapter in the University of Limpopo. Pontsho holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Limpopo, and is currently enrolling for Honours in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)/BCTA at the University of Limpopo researching on “the differential effect of firm size on social and environmental disclosure”. She was born in Buckenburg and raised in Turfloop.



Tebogo Kgomo

Peace maker/discover 

Tebogo is continuously called the peace maker as he always cultivates harmony, joy and peace in the team. Furthermore, he has the unique attributes of being able to discover hidden issues in the case study. Tebogo is a member in good standing of the University of Limpopo alumni. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University and is currently enrolling for Honours Bachelor of Commerce( Accounting)/BCTA  at the university of Limpopo researching on ”The effect of human capital investment on firm performance”. He originates from Seshego township.



Desry Lesele

Striker 

Desry is best described as the striker; he strikes where it matters most by emphasising the importance of professionalism in the team and the value of pervasive skills. He is one who will take a shot for the team and always makes sure that the team obtains good grades. Desry brings scholarly writing and presentation skills into the team. He is a member in good standing of the University of Limpopo alumni, and is the fountain of creativity and innovation in the team. He served as the chairperson of the Student Mentorship Programme (SMP) at the University of Limpopo in 2015, and currently serves as the SMP executive committee advisor. He originates from the rich mountains of Burgersfort. Desry holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and is currently enrolled for Honours  in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting)/ BCTA at the University of Limpopo, researching on “The impact of CEO changes on corporate value”.
