Programme Accreditation
The programme is accredited and structured around the curriculum of 3 of the world's most prestigious global accounting bodies:
- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA);
- The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); and
- The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
ACCA is the world’s fastest-growing gateway to the accountancy profession, helping people to become successful accountancy professionals. Its global reputation is so strong that it now has over 170,000 members and 436,000 students in 180 countries. It also works with over 8,500 approved employers and over 80 accountancy partnerships worldwide. The ACCA qualification is fully SAQA-registered as a Professional Qualification in South Africa at National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 8.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
CIMA is the world’s largest and leading professional body of Management Accountants helping people and businesses to succeed in the public and private sectors. CIMA has more than 227,000 members and students in 179 countries. They work at the heart of business in industry, commerce and not for profit organisations. The CIMA qualification is equally a fully SAQA-registered Professional Qualification in South Africa at NQF Level 8.
The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
SAICA is the foremost accountancy body in South Africa. The Institute provides a wide range of support services to more than 38 000 members who are Chartered Accountants and hold positions as CEOs, MDs, (board) directors, business owners, chief financial officers, auditors and other leaders in their chosen spheres of business operations and public life. SAICA’s members enjoy the privilege of using the highly regarded and prestigious CA(SA) designation.

In terms of the
South African Qualification Authority's
National Qualification Framework, the ACCA, CIMA and CA (SA) professional designations are registered as NQF level 8 qualifications, equivalent to an Honours degree or a Post Graduate Diploma.
The CharterQuest Institute is a SAQA/FASSET-registered and accredited college that works with and is approved by FASSET to provide structured tuition and practical work experience in South Africa for these qualifications.
